Reports of A Stabbing at Montclair State University's Floyd Hall ArenaUPDATE: A Montclair State University spokesperson shares the following:

On April 4th 2016 at 11:26 p.m., The Montclair State University Police Department received a routed 911 call from Clifton Police Department and responded to The Floyd Arena in reference to an altercation and stabbing in progress. Upon arrival, two parties had engaged into a physical altercation resulting in an injury to one party’s ear. Initial investigation showed that during the altercation, one party had threatened to stab the other party with a knife. Officers on scene recovered a knife and the victim received medical care for the injury to his ear. The investigation is ongoing to determine whether the knife had caused the other party’s injuries. The victim is a 36 year old male, a non-student visitor to the arena. The victim was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital and later released.

Nick Kael, a non-student visitor to the arena age 48 of Cedar Grove NJ, was arrested for Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon with unlawful purpose. This case will be heard in Little Fall Municipal Court initially.
