Glen Ridge Volunteer Ambulance Squad Looking For a Few Good Men And Women

Glen Ridge Volunteer Ambulance SquadThe Glen Ridge Volunteer Ambulance Squad is always there to help you 24 hours a day, seven days a week and every day of the year. Now they need your help — they want YOU! GRVAS need people who will become drivers who are trained in house and EMTs to take a state course to learn vital medical information in order to provide basic life support. There are daytime and nighttime shifts to fill. They also need volunteers to help with daytime transports for residents who need assistance and an ambulance to get them to and from their medical appointments and/or drivers to take senior citizens to their medical appointments in a car.

Squad members are community residents who have varied interests and occupations. Some work full time and others may be retired. Some are high school and college students. Some are lawyers, teachers, artists, and business owners. Some are people who work from home. However, they all share the same commitment to volunteering their time to help the residents of the Glen Ridge community.

On Wednesday, May 25 at 7:30 pm, the Ambulance Squad will host an open house at their Headquarters next to Fitzgerald’s Restaurant, for any interested persons who want to learn more about what they do. If you have the time and are willing to make a commitment to your community, please attend the open house; or call the Ambulance Squad at 973-748-7721 and leave a message; or if you know someone on the Ambulance Squad, speak to them.
