Montclair Film Festival will offer summer enrichment programs for middle and high school students:

Comedy Bootcamp: Improv & Sketch Comedy
(Grades 6-12)
The fundamentals of improvisation are the fundamentals of life.  Listening, agreeing, forwarding action, taking care of your partner and so much more –  including finding the fun and funny in life.  In this 2-week class, you’ll be introduced to those lessons as you create characters and scenes using a variety of improv exercises.  The class will explore writing sketch comedy with the goal of a performance at the end of the 2-week intensive. (Class size: 10 – 15)

Instructor: Gary Rudoren is an original member of the nationally-recognized Annoyance Theater in Chicago where he was a director/actor/writer and teacher for almost 20 years.  He also taught and directed at The Second City and the Magnet Theater

Tuesday – Friday, July 26, 27, 28, 29, August 2, 3, 4, 5
Grades 6 – 9: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Grades 9 – 12: 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm
$125/week* (Total Cost: $250)

 

Reel World Filmmaking: Montclair Township Animal Shelter
(Grades 9 – 12)
The Montclair Film Festival is offering High School Students a unique opportunity to gain real world experience by producing a promotional film for the Montclair Township Animal Shelter. Students will be guided through all steps of a professional production from development, pre-production, shooting, editing and final delivery. Build your portfolio, do good, and have fun! (Class size: 8-10)

Instructor: Jocelyn Hassenfeld is a producer, director and editor with over 20 years of experience creating shows, on-air promos, and marketing media for TV and non-profits.

10 Classes:
Monday – Friday, July 11 – 22 from 2:00 – 4:30 PM
$150/week* (Total Cost: $300)
