Early Morning Fire in Montclair’s Erwin Park Under Investigation


Montclair Fire Department units, responding to a 4 a.m. report of a smoke condition in the area of Erwin Park Wednesday morning, arrived to find a grill cabana at the rear of a property on Erwin Park fully engulfed in flames.

According to Deputy Chief Robert Duncan of the Montclair Fire Department, the fire was declared under control at 4:10am. No injuries were reported at the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the MFD investigation unit. All units cleared the scene at 5:22am.
