!schoolunnamed (6)Montclair Pop-Up, at its Artisan Market this Saturday, will collect school supplies for the upcoming 2016-2017 school year. All supplies will be donated to the Human Needs Food Pantry of Montclair. Human Needs will distribute them to their clients at the end of August.

If you’re a parent, you know how expensive it is to buy everything on the required-supply list that schools give out. And if you’re already struggling to put food on the table, buying supplies can be a huge burden. Human Needs Pantry donors have been generous already, but the Pantry serve hundreds of local families, so more items are needed to give away in a few short weeks!

All ages will be served — preschool through college! All items are welcome–crayons and colored pencils for the little ones; scientific calculators, book covers, combination locks, etc. for the older kids.

The pantry receives a lot of requests for:

college-ruled notebooks
composition notebooks
3-ring binders
filler paper and dividers
pocket folders
pencils (both wood and mechanical)
erasers
pens
highlighters
glue and glue sticks
pencil cases
Backpacks*

*in demand as they are a high-priced item

  1. Most needed school supplies–backpacks! NEW, and in gender-neutral colors/patterns, please. The pantry will be giving away school supplies next week, so this timing is perfect. Thank you, on behalf of the clients! More info here: http://www.humanneedsfoodpantry.org (and check out the Facebook page)
