The school auditorium of Sacred Heart in Bloomfield (76 Broad St.) has been transformed into a rainforest for one week for vacation bible camp. A group of 24 children learned about the wonders of this part of the world from Aug. 1 through Aug. 5. A giant waterfall, Kapok tree, lush vegetation were among the features of the rainforest and most of these were made from recycled materials lending to the theme of “stewardship” of the Amazon rainforest. The kids will also get the chance to visit with some live animals from the Turtle Back Zoo. The rainforest is on view today from 1-4 p.m.
