Where do you live? Montclair
When did you move there? 6th grade
Where did you grow up? Newark and Montclair (I went to Glenfield!)
How do you make a living? I’m a counselor and life coach.
Coffee, tea or … ? Both! My grandmother is British so tea is a tradition on that side of the family. Puerto Rican coffee is a daily ritual too.
What’s your idea of a perfect Saturday? A dance class (locally or in Harlem). Visiting and playing with friends. A home cooked meal with my kiddos.
What’s your favorite local restaurant? Mesob
What’s on your nightstand? The Gift, poems by Hafiz
What are you listening to? Tribe Called Quest’s new album and Diego El Cigala’s new album.
What are your current addictions? More dance and music! Congolese contemporary dancing. Loving Fally Ipupa (artist from DRC)
Talent you would most like to have. To sing — really belt out a great song.
What’s the worst-kept secret about Montclair? Our public schools and our outstanding teachers!
What do you hope they say about you at your funeral? She was open-hearted and passionate until the end.
