The week in crime from D/Lt. David O’Dowd, Montclair Police Department:


Arrest

09/13/17 (Maple Avenue) Montclair Police received a BOLO from Bloomfield Police regarding a vehicle that had fled on their officers for motor vehicle offenses.  Montclair officers located the suspect, a 27-year-old Montclair man in the fleeing vehicle. The suspect exited his vehicle and confronted the officers, shoving one of them.  These two officers attempted to arrest and handcuff the suspect, to which he resisted.  Additional officers responded and were then successful in handcuffing this individual.  During the arrest, one of the officers sustained a hand injury. Bloomfield Police issued motor vehicle summonses based on the initial event.  Montclair Police charged the suspect with Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer and Resisting Arrest.

 

Burglary/Theft

09-12-2017 (Cocina Candela, Bloomfield Avenue) Burglary to a commercial establishment. Cash was stolen in this incident.

09-14-2017 (Hawthorne Place) A ladder was taken from an unlocked garage and placed under a bedroom window of the residence. Entry was not gained to the home.

09-17-2017 (Lincoln Street) Theft of loose change from a motor vehicle. No sign of forced entry.
