The YMCA of Montclair’s Park Street Branch is introducing three new offerings in the coming weeks to help get your heart racing.
Surf’s Up In Montclair
Most yoga classes don’t involve splashing or have lifeguards looking on. The Y is swapping out yoga mats for paddleboards in a new certification class for yogis in their pool called stand up paddleboard yoga or SUP yoga for short. Participants must hold a fitness or yoga certification to participate.
Certification is Sunday, January 14th from noon to 9pm in the Y’s Park Street Branch Small Pool (25 Park Street in Montclair). Registration is required by Friday, December 29. The cost is $350 for Y Members and $399 for Non-Members.
Dancing with the Stars Louis Van Amstel To Host Special Class At YMCA Of Montclair
LaBlast Fitness is a partner-free dance fitness workout created by world-renowned dancer and fitness expert Louis van Amstel (as seen on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars). It’s accessible for all levels–from the absolute beginner to the experienced dancer. LaBlast takes you through a diverse mix of famous ballroom dances set to your favorite music, everything from pop and rock to hip-hop and country.
Join Louis Van Amstel for this special class on Monday, December 18 from 5:30-6:30pm at the Y’s Park Street Branch. Advance registration is recommended. The class is free for Y Members and $10 for Non-Members. Tickets can be purchased through Eventbrite.
