On Thursday, February 22nd, 2018, from 7-8:30pm in the George Innis Atrium, Montclair High School’s Civics & Government Institute (CGI) will be hosting the 13th Annual African-American Achievement Dinner.
The African American Achievement Dinner/Scholarship Fund honors a person in the MHS community whose work and efforts create positive change in the African American community. This year, CGI will be honoring Christa Rapaport, the Chair of the Civil Rights Committee of Montclair, and Ms. Andrea Smith-Morgan, a special education teacher at MHS who is the founder of MAAC.
The evening will include great food donated by local Montclair restaurants and wonderful music performed by school and community groups. The event is free and open to the general public with a suggested donation of $5 for children and students and $10 for adults. The proceeds raised will be awarded as a scholarship to a senior minority student within CGI.
