Montclair Crime: Man Grabs Money From Quick Chek; Theft at Claremont CVS

The week in crime from D/Lt. David O’Dowd, Montclair Police Department:


02-06-2018 (Carey Court) Two unlocked vehicles were entered. A pair of headphones were taken.

02-06-2018 (CVS, Claremont Avenue) Two females were observed stealing numerous containers of allergy medication. The two females fled the area on foot.

02-07-2018 (Stonebridge Road) A pocketbook was stolen from a parked motor vehicle. A passenger window was smashed to gain entry.

02-10-2018 (Christopher Street) A pocketbook, which had been left unattended in a driveway, was taken. It was later located discarded in the street. A cellular telephone was missing from the pocketbook.

02-10-2018 (Elm Street) Theft of a 2003 Honda Odyssey from a residential driveway. The key was inside the vehicle.

02-11-2018 (Ward Place) A motor vehicle was entered and loose change taken. There was no sign of forced entry.

02-11-2018 (Ward Place) A vehicle was rummaged through, but nothing reported taken. No sign of forced entry.

02-11-2018 (High Street) Two vehicles were entered. A briefcase was taken in this incident.

02-11-2018 (Amelia Street) A vehicle was rummaged through, but nothing reported missing. This vehicle had been left unlocked.

02-12-2018 (Quick Chek, Valley Road) A customer reached over the counter and grabbed a number of $20 bills from an open register. He then fled the scene on a Black SUV. He was described as a 6’ tall male.


02-05-2018 (Bloomfield Avenue) A 27-year-old Montclair man was arrested on an open Montclair warrant ($250)

02-09-2018 (Lackawanna Plaza) A 36-year-old Montclair woman was arrested for open warrants out of Montclair and Little Falls totaling $5,000.

02-11-2018 (Bloomfield Avenue) A 49-year-old man from North Carolina was arrested on an open warrant out of the Atlantic County Sheriffs Department.
