Women’s Empowerment Week Begins Saturday, April 14 in Montclair Center

Presented by Montclair Center, this year’s Women’s Empowerment Week will comprise a panel discussion on Wednesday, Apr. 18 at the Montclair Art Museum and will close with Ladies Night Out on Friday, Apr. 20. Throughout the week, businesses throughout Montclair Center will be hosting satellite events in support of women’s health, goals and personal growth. “We are so pleased to be hosting the third year of Women’s Empowerment here in Montclair Center,” said Israel Cronk, executive director of the Montclair Center BID. “It’s grown into an energizing and exciting week of events and we look forward to welcoming everyone once again.”

The Women’s Empowerment Forum will be held on Wednesday, Apr. 18 at 6 pm. Speakers will include journalist Charrise Jones; automotive business leader Paula Lombard; Alecia Robinson, community leader and general manager of Investors Bank; Patricia Teffengart, executive director of the New Jersey Coalition Against Sexual Assault; Montclair State University student and empowerment speaker Julia Young and Kate Premo, marketing and communications director of the Montclair Art Museum.

Finally, the week will conclude with Ladies Night Out on Friday, Apr. 20. The evening will kick off at 5 p.m. at the Crosby, located at 193 Glenridge Avenue. They will be featuring a special drink — The Frosè – made with Juliette Rosè, Victoria Pink Gin, St. Germaine, cucumber water and lime juice. The evening will then continue from 6-9 pm with events and specials throughout downtown Montclair.

Throughout the district, businesses will be collecting donations for SAVE of Essex County, a program of Family Service League, Essex County’s care center for victims of sexual violence.
