Montclair Cooperative School will honor one of its alumni — Dan McGuire, CEO, Homeless Solutions, Inc. — and one of its community partners — Young Audiences New Jersey & Eastern Pennsylvania — with the first ever Co-op Legacy Awards, to be given out at a gala dinner on Thursday evening, April 26, 2018, at Mayfair Farms in West Orange.

“We are so privileged to have a community of doers and dreamers among our ranks. It’s essential to share their ideals and achievements with not just our community but the world at large,” says Co-op Legacy Award Gala co-chairs Tracey Allen and Jenise Russo.

The Legacy Awards are given to both individuals and organizations who are exemplars of the Co-op approach to learning and community. The recipients have been selected from alumni, alumni parents and those throughout the Co-op community who exhibit the following qualities:

Compassion for others
Advancement of social justice
Collaborative spirit
Creativity
Problem-solving ability
Enthusiasm for lifelong learning

Homeless Solutions provides shelter, affordable housing, and supportive services to approximately 600 homeless and low-income households in Morris County, New Jersey, annually.

Young Audiences New Jersey & Eastern Pennsylvania has been a valuable contributor the Co-op’s respected STEAM program.
