When did you move there? July 2001

Where did you grow up? I was born in Hong Kong, and my family moved to Queens when I was six.

What is your everyday passion? My son and being a good mom to him. I like to cook, especially when I make a great meal with nothing in the fridge. I also love my garden.

Coffee, tea or … ? Black tea or Chai with milk. I was given some Pu Erh for Christmas and really love it.

What’s your idea of a perfect weekend day? Being at our lake cottage with family and friends.

What’s your favorite local restaurant? Aozora, Le Salbuen, Binh Duong in Bloomfield.

What’s on your nightstand? White Houses, In My Kitchen, Land of Fish and Rice.

What are you listening to? Whatever my 10 year does, which is basically the top 20.

What are your current indulgences? Not working. Over easy eggs with harissa, toast with lots of butter.

What talent you would most like to have? To sing!

What do you hope they say about you at your funeral? I don’t really want people talking at my funeral. Just put me in a pine box with some wild flowers. Maybe my son can play my favorite songs on the piano. A song or two. A poem. Then burn me up, preferably outside.
