Burglary/Theft

07-17-2018 (Greek Taverna, Bloomfield Avenue) Burglary to a commercial establishment. A cash drawer containing approximately $400 cash was taken in this incident. No sign of forced entry.

07-17-2018 (Oak Place) Attempted burglary to a residence. An attempt had been made to kick in a rear door of the residence. Access was not gained to the home.

07-19-2018 (Forest Street) Theft of a pocketbook from a parked vehicle. There were no signs of forced entry.

07-20-2018 (Cedar Avenue) Theft of a delivered package from the front of a residence. This package contained small electronics and accessories.

07-20-2018 (Claremont Avenue) Theft of an unsecured bicycle from the rear of a residence.

07-20-2018 (Elm Street) Theft of a delivered package from the front of a residence. This package contained small electronics and a book.

07-21-2018 (CVS, Claremont Avenue) Theft of numerous food items. The suspect is described as an African-American male, approximately 5’9″ in height, slim build, wearing a red hat and shoes, dark col ored t-shirt and light-colored pants.

07-21-2018 (Maple Avenue) Theft of a wallet from an unlocked motor vehicle.

07-21-2018 (Gold Land Jewelers, Bloomfield Avenue) Theft of two gold chains from a display case totaling approximately $4,850.

07-23-2018 (Essex Avenue) theft of loose change from a parked vehicle. There were no signs of forced entry in this incident.

07-23-2018 (Elm Street) Theft of a 2016 Ford Fusion which had been left parked in the street, unlocked and running.

07-23-2018 (Montclair Avenue) Theft of a purse from a parked vehicle. There were no signs of forced entry in this incident.

Arrest

07-24-2018 (Cedar Avenue) A 26-year-old Montclair woman was arrested on an open warrant out of Newark.
