In an email to parents entitled Staffing Moves, Montclair Schools Superintendent Kendra Johnson announced a list of Montclair Schools staffing changes at the principal level, affecting Renaissance, Glenfield, Hillside and Watchung Schools.
The moves, Johnson writes in her letter, which became effective on July 17, “will assist in aligning the needs of all school commmunities so that individual staff members’ talents fit the needs of each respective school community.”
At Monday night’s BOE meeting, parents again raised concerns about Renaissance School, including dismay at Renaissance School’s Gerard Citro, Student Assistance Counselor, being moved to Glenfield School. In February, parents were also vocal at this BOE meeting, regarding issues of leadership and classroom management at Renaissance.
Renaissance School will now get a new principal with Dr. Joseph Putrino, who was previously principal at Northeast School before coming to Glenfield School as principal.
Anthony Gross, former Watchung School principal, becomes acting principal at Glenfield.
Patrick Krenn, former assistant principal at Hillside, becomes acting principal at Watchung.
Thomas Adamo, formerly a special education educator, will become acting assistant principal at Hillside.
Lastly, Edward Wilson, formerly principal at Renaissance School, becomes a district supervisor for special education, filling a position vacated by a retirement.
