Plan For New Apartments Results In Demolition On Baldwin Street in Glen Ridge

Plans for close to 100 new apartments are in the works at Baldwin Street in Glen Ridge, steps from Nicolo’s Bakery and Montclair’s Bay Street Station. The new development is planned to be built in the place of five adjacent properties in Glen Ridge’s historic district, where demolition has already begun.

Demolition has begun on boarded-up homes along Baldwin Street in Glen Ridge.

The developer for the Baldwin Street parcel, totaling more than two acres, is JMF Properties, the same developer behind Clarus Maplewood, steps from the Maplewood’s train station.

  1. Here the redevelopment plans certainly be an improvement. Somehow the remnants of the historic fabric of the neighborhood were lost and unidentifiable. The little Addams family looking house was cute but too far gone. There is a good proximity to the train station.
