Where do you live? Carlstadt, NJ
When did you move there? I moved to Carlstadt when I was 14 years old.
Where did you grow up? i grew up in many different states including a different country. I was born in Manhattan, and shortly after that my family and I moved to Queens where I lived for about 6 years. Then, we moved to Ecuador, and I lived there for 3 years. Once I came back, we we moved to the Bronx, and finally settled in New Jersey where Carlstadt has been my home.
How do you make a living? I own a restaurant in Montclair called Ray’s Luncheonette. My everyday passion is to give my customers the best of me and my cooking abilities.
Coffee, tea or? I am a coffee lover. I can drink up to 3 large cups a day.
What’s your idea of a perfect weekend day? Spending time with my family and my husband, going out for dinner and dancing.
What’s your favorite local restaurant? Even though I own Ray’s Luncheonette, and I love my restaurant, I have to admit I also do love Cuban Pete’s.
What’s on your nightstand? A picture of my wedding day and a glass of water.
What are you listening to? I love listening to music, all kinds of music.
What talent you would most like to have? I wish I was a good singer.
What’s the worst-kept (or best-kept!) secret about Montclair? I must admit a lot of people consider Ray’s Luncheonette to be a best-kept secret in Montclair.
What do you hope they say about you at your funeral? “She was loud and awesome, and she always had something to make us smile.”
