A reader asked us to share this story in the hopes of finding the dog that bit her son in Brookdale Park Monday afternoon:
My son was jogging alone in Brookdale Park at 3:55 this afternoon when he was bitten by a dog. It was on a leash with its owner, who apologized and asked my son if he was OK. My son was in shock, and replied he was OK. But it turns out he has a sizable bite wound in his leg. The doctor says it is imperative to confirm the dog is up to date on vaccinations, or else my son has to get rabies shots. So I am trying to find the owner.
My son was so nonplussed that he does not remember anything about the owner or the dog, except that it was pretty big. The encounter happened as they were in the crosswalk near the north entrance of the park, off Bellevue.
My son will be fine. It would further put us at ease to know the dog is up to date on shots. Thank you for your help.
