Montclair Crime: Man Robbed In Panera Parking Lot, Police Investigating

The week in Montclair crime from D/Lt. David O’Dowd, Montclair Police Department:


11-04-2018 (Bloomfield Avenue) A 24-year-old Morris Plains woman was arrested and charged with DWI.


10-30-2018 (Glenridge Avenue) Theft of a bicycle from the rear yard of a residence.

10-31-2018 (Cooper Avenue) Theft of an unsecured bicycle from the rear of a commercial building.

11-03-2018 (Montclair Antiques, Church Street) Theft of the metal store sign from next to the front door of the establishment.

11-05-2018 (Elm Street) Theft of a delivered package from the front of a residence. This package contained electronics.


11-03-2018 (South Fullerton Avenue) Vandalism to a parked, occupied, motor vehicle. The vehicle owner observed a group of juveniles flee the scene on foot. It is unknown what was utilized to break the window.

11-03-2018 (Urban Outfitters, South Park Street) Vandalism to a commercial establishment. A second-floor window was broken by an unknow object.


11-04-2018 (Bloomfield Avenue) A 29yoa Montclair man arranged to meet with an internet seller to purchase an iPhone. Upon arriving at the Panera Bread parking lot, the suspect entered the passenger side of the vehicle, brandishing a handgun. The suspect took approximately $3,600 in cash from the victim and fled in a newer model black vehicle. The suspect is described as an African-American male, mid 30’s, with a thin build. There were no injuries reported. This incident is under investigation.
