Montclair’s pizza quotient is back up, now that Grindage Wood Fired Pizza & Sandwiches has opened.
Located at 438 Bloomfield Avenue, in the former Mancinni’s Coal Oven Pizza space, Grindage will feature hand-crafted, locally sourced food, including menu favorites from Mancinni’s, like the beloved meatball ricotta pizza and Cremini mushroom pizza.
“We are so excited to join the thriving dining culture in Montclair,” says Lee Mangravito, co-owner of Grindage Wood Fired Pizza & Sandwiches and a resident of West Orange, N.J. “We’re keeping the most popular elements of the Mancinni’s menu, along with its chef, Joe Profita, and adding new pizzas, sandwiches and salads we think the community will love.”
Choose from a variety of original pizzas, fresh seasonal salads and savory sandwiches. New menu items include a white vegetable pizza with roasted red peppers and artichokes, a Tuscan kale salad with pine nuts, and a pan-seared skirt steak sandwich with chimichurri sauce.
Another plus for pizza lovers — Grindage plans to stay open until 11 p.m., for late night pizza cravings and you can buy pizza by the slice.
“Whether you are in the mood for traditional wood-fired pizza, a quick lunch, or a late-night slice with friends, Grindage provides an experience that will be enjoyed by all,” says Jarrett Bennett, co-chef and co-owner at the restaurant. Bennett is a Cedar Grove, N.J. resident who graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in 2000. He has helped launch restaurants in numerous New Jersey towns, and across the nation.
The restaurant is co-owned by Mangravito and Bennett. Profita, formerly of Mancinni’s, serves as the head chef.
Grindage Wood Fired Pizza & Sandwiches is open for lunch and dinner, seven days a week. For more details and menu, visit www.GrindagePizza.com.
