Montclair Women’s Club will host a luncheon version of the “Syria Supper Club” On Friday, November 30th at 12pm in conjunction with The United Tastes of America, a program founded by Kate McCaffrey and Melina Macall to empower refugees as they establish new lives in our area. The luncheon is open to the public with advance reservations (by November 18th) prepared by new Syrian neighbors who will share their traditional cooking skills with a table full of traditional vegetarian Syrian foods, helping them toward more independence and confidence in their lives in the USA.
During the luncheon, Montclair Women’s Club member Alma Schneider will reflect on her work with local refugee families and share what she has learned from her experiences. Alma, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Cooking Coach is also founder of Take Back the Kitchen LLC. She will also be discussing the importance of food in bringing communities together in her soon to be released International Cookbook.
Reservations for the luncheon can be made for the Montclair Women’s Club luncheon online through United Tastes of America at www.theunitedtastesofamerica.org. The luncheon is $42/person (with a $3 online processing fee) and a discount for Montclair Women’s Club members.
