Art Exhibit at Gallery L: Winter & Prozak

On Saturday, December 22, Gallery L will open its newest exhibit, Art & Prozak, curated by local artists Joey Palestina and Steve Kelly. The exhibit will kick off with its Winter & Prozak Holiday Bash on Friday at 7:00 PM.

Palestina and cofounder and fellow artist Steve Kelly started Art & Prozak as a way to give artists a platform for their work. While facilitating growth and encouraging community engagement, they are showcasing works of all kinds. This isn’t just any old art show with pictures hanging on walls. Rather, this art collective is unique, featuring works of fine art, photography, sculptures, poetry, comedic skits, and music.

Palestina referred to the opening night as “a madhouse of art.” Work will be displayed on the walls, on the floor, and on mismatched furniture. “Attendees can expect to look anywhere and everywhere and see something,” curator Palestina says. “We are not like a typical wine and cheese gallery event, where people str     oll through, take some pics in front of a piece of work and leave. Our goal is to keep you here and inspire you!”

Every show is different, and this event specifically features fine art, photography, sculpture pieces, DJs, hidden actors in the crowd, and live music. With a little bit of everything, it seems like you should expect the unexpected with Art & Prozak.

Opening night’s Holiday Bash will be held at Gallery L, 543 Bloomfield Avenue, Montclair on Saturday from 7:00 PM until midnight. Admission is free with a suggested donation to help keep Art & Prozak alive. Can’t make the Bash? You’ll have four more opportunities to view the art:
