Jared Jackson, founder and executive director of “Jews in ALL Hues,” will speak about building diverse Jewish communities at Bnai Keshet’s Kaplan Minyan on Saturday morning, December 22, 2018. The Kaplan Minyan, which meets in the Red Gables historic house across the parking lot from the synagogue’s main building, begins at 10:30 a.m. with selected songs and readings.
Jackson is the founder and executive director of Jews in ALL Hues, an education and advocacy organization that is building a Jewish community where intersectional diversity is normative. A Philadelphia-born multi-heritage Jew, Jackson is an internationally renowned Jewish diversity leader, consultant, facilitator, speaker, writer, musician, and entrepreneur. He is an alum of the Selah leadership program through Bend The Arc: A Jewish Partnership for Justice. Jackson was named one of the “Jews That Will Change the World” by the Israeli periodical, Ma’ariv.
Jackson is a prolific speaker throughout the country. He has also presented, been a consultant, and led workshops and training for the Union for Reform Judaism, Birthright Israel NEXT, JCC Manhattan, Jews of Color National Convening, Jewish Multiracial Network, UJA Federation of New York, Swarthmore College, Lehigh University, Drexel University, Limmud Boston and Philadelphia, the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College, International Institute for Secular Humanist Judaism, Jewish Federation of New Mexico, Sephardic Heritage Festival (Albuquerque), and Temple University, among others. Jackson also teaches music/jazz improvisation/saxophone and Hebrew lessons. He is married to Cantor Rebekah Robinson.
