Montclair Crime: Burglary, Package Theft, Multiple Incidents of Window Vandalism


The week in Montclair crime from Montclair Police Department:


December 5, 2018 (Bloomfield Avenue): A theft of a delivered package occurred at a Bloomfield Avenue apartment building. There is no suspect description.
December 5, 2018 (Walnut Street): A Walnut Street apartment was burglarized. Entry appears to have been forced while the resident was away. Proceeds were reported to be a large amount of jewelry.
December 7, 2018 (Prospect Avenue): A wallet containing credit cards and cash was removed from the center console of an unlocked motor vehicle. There are no suspects.
December 8, 2018 (Bloomfield Avenue): A theft of a delivered package occurred at a Bloomfield Avenue apartment building. The suspect is described as a black male, 40-50 y/o, “scruffy” facial hair, wearing a dark blue Carhartt jacket.
December 8, 2018 (Lorraine Avenue): An unknown suspect(s) entered a garage and rummaged through the resident’s vehicles. Nothing was reported missing at this time.

December 6, 2018 (Grove Street): The window to a Grove Street business was damaged. The damage was possibly caused by someone throwing a rock. Entry into the business was not gained.
December 7, 2018 (The Crescent): An unknown person(s) threw a rock through the window of a residence on The Crescent. The window was valued at approximately $100.
December 9, 2018 (Melrose Place): The dining room window to a Melrose Place residence was broken by an unknown object. Three juveniles were seeing leaving the area.
December 9, 2018 (The Crescent): Unknown person(s) threw a rock at a vehicle causing the windshield to break.
December 9, 2018 (Orange Road): A rock was thrown through the living room window of an Orange Road residence. Damage was estimated at $500

December 5, 2018 (Claremont Avenue): A 44-year-old Belleville woman was placed under arrest and charged with DWI following a motor vehicle stop.
