Middle school students in Montclair Public Schools can enter a short-story contest, sponsored by Friends of Anderson Park. Three winners will each receive $75 and there will be a cookies-and-awards party at Watchung Booksellers in May. Stories will be judged by local authors; at the presentation, the three winning stories will be read aloud by professionally trained actors.
The stories can be in any genre, 500-2500 words, and must observe guidelines in subject matter and language that would apply in school. Part or all of the story must involve Anderson Park. Entries should be typed, double-spaced, with numbered pages. The author’s name, phone number, grade and school name should be on every page. For further information, contact [email protected] or call Ann Evans at (201) 792-6892.
