Burglary/Theft

01-22-2019 (Firestone, Bloomfield Avenue) Attempted theft of a motor vehicle. Two suspects entered a Mini Cooper, which had been left running in the parking lot. The suspects were unable to get the vehicle in gear, fleeing the area on foot. The vehicle keys were stolen from the vehicle in this incident. Suspect 1- African American male, thin, 16-25 years old, wearing tight jeans, black shoes with white soles, a gray or tan hooded jacket with the hood up (unknown emblem on left chest of jacket). Suspect 2- African American male, think, 16-25 years old, wearing jeans with white fade marks on the back thighs, dark shoes, dark jacket, black hair.

01-23-2019 (Midland Avenue) Theft of two cellular telephone charges from an unlocked motor vehicle.
01-23-2019 (Golden Chinese Gourmet, Grove Street) Burglary to a commercial establishment. Access was gained by kicking in the glass front door. The cash register was taken in this incident.
01-23-2019 (Montclair Avenue) Theft of a cellular phone charging wire from an unlocked motor vehicle.
01-23-2019 (Bloomfield Avenue) Theft of a 2018 blue Toyota Camry from the parking lot of a residence. The keys had been left in this vehicle.
01-24-2019 (Harrison Avenue) Attempted burglary to a garage. A door was damaged, but entry was not gained to the structure.
01-24-2019 (Montclair Library, S. Fullerton) Theft of a personal laptop computer, which had been left unattended.
01-25-2019 (Lorraine Avenue) Burglary to a residence, a rear window was smashed to gain entry. A bedroom was rummaged through, but it is unknown if anything was taken.
01-25-2019 (Chester Road) Burglary to an occupied residence. The homeowners heard a noise from the rear of the home and noticed two purses missing from a kitchen chair. Access was gained through an unlocked rear door.
01-26-2019 (Wildwood Avenue) Burglary to an occupied residence. The homeowner heard a noise from the rear of the home. The homeowner then noticed a pocketbook missing from the dining room. Access was gained through an unlocked rear door.
01-26-2019 (Bloomfield Avenue) Attempted burglary to an apartment. The front entrance door was tampered with, but entry was not gained.
01-26-2019 (S. Fullerton Avenue) Attempted burglary to two apartments. The front doors were damaged, but entry was not gained to either home.
01-27-2019 (Union Street) Burglary to an apartment. Jewelry was taken in this incident. There was no sign of forced entry.
01-27-2019 (Grove Street) Theft from an unlocked motor vehicle. Cash was taken in this incident.
01-28-2019 (Elmwood Avenue) Theft of a 2006 black Ford pickup truck from the street in front of a residence.
01-29-2019 (Glenridge Avenue) Burglary to a construction trailer. Power tools were taken in this incident.

Miscellaneous

01-25-2019 (Willowdale Avenue) A vehicle traveling on the street had its side window smashed. It is unknown what was utilized to break the window.

Arrests

01-24-2019 (Bloomfield Avenue) A 46-year-old Montclair man was arrested on open warrants out of Montclair totaling $900.

01-28-2019 (CVS, Bloomfield Avenue) A 26-year-old Irvington woman was arrested and charged with Shoplifting for stealing food items from the store. She was charged with possession CDS and Hindering for providing a false name to Law Enforcement.
