Montclair’s Walnut Street Fair To Be Headed by The JLMN

The Montclair Bread Company’s hugely popular annual street fair, The Walnut Street Fair, will return in 2019 with new organizers at its helm. The Junior League of Montclair-Newark (JLMN) will now oversee the local fair, which is set to celebrate its 7th year on Saturday, May 4, 2019.

Rachel Wyman, owner of Montclair Bread Company, is one of the founding members of the Fair and has been the main organizer since its inception. She states, “The Walnut Street Fair is such a wonderful representation of the vibrancy and culture of Montclair. It’s a welcoming and fun celebration of our community.” Wyman continues, “Having worked with JLMN volunteers over the years for various events, including the MBCo’s Doughnut Runs, I’ve come to both appreciate and admire the League, its volunteers, and the work that they do in and for our community. I have no doubt that the JLMN will maintain the Fair’s inclusive vibe and build upon it to make it even better.”

Stephanie Hutton, president of the JLMN, says she most certainly intends to build upon MBCo’s vision of community togetherness and fun. “The Fair is has always been about local businesses supporting one another and the community having the opportunity to come out for the fun of the celebration. We love that and are really excited to see it all come together in May.”
