Staged Reading Of Laundry and Bourbon, Tuesday, January 15

The Drama Department of the Women’s Club of Glen Ridge is looking forward to presenting a staged reading of the one act play entitled Laundry and Bourbon on Tuesday, January 15.

Written by James McLure, Laundry and Bourbon takes place on a hot summer afternoon in Maynard Texas. Three women from small town America spend the afternoon together reminiscing, gossiping, questioning their past, determining their future, sipping bourbon and cokes, and yes, doing a bit of laundry. Moments of honesty, sarcastic humor, and secrets are revealed in this touching contemporary comedy.

The Women’s Club is honored to welcome three professional actresses to the stage. Club member, Heather Ballantyne will direct and perform. She will be joined by Tony-nominated actress Erin Dilly who has recently been seen in Bull, Blue Bloods, Person of Interest, and Boardwalk Empire. The third performer is local actress Deshja Driggs-Hall who will be seen in the upcoming production of Intimate Apparel produced by 4th Wall Theatre Company and opening February 22nd at Burgdorff Center for the Performing Arts.

Mark your calendars and enjoy some wonderful southern cuisine and a few laughs.
