Montclair Film Festival Announces Call For Applicants for 2019 Junior Jury

Local students take part in Montclair Film’s Junior Jury.

Montclair Film is now accepting applicants for the 2019 Montclair Film Festival Junior Jury. This program offers students in grades 10 to 12 an exciting opportunity to serve on the 2019 Junior Jury. Jurors will meet industry professionals and will learn how to analyze and adjudicate films. They will receive MF student memberships and VIP treatment with free access and reserved seats for select films. After deliberating and selecting the best film in its category, the jurors will present the Junior Jury Award as part of the Montclair Film Festival’s Award Ceremony on Saturday, May 11.

Students in grades 10-12 are welcome to apply but must be available to attend an orientation, to screen selected films, and to participate in jury deliberations and the award ceremony on Saturday, May 11. This program is free and open to all eligible students.

“Our Junior Jury program provides students with a unique opportunity to see films and participate in the festival’s awards selection process,” said Montclair Film Education Director Sue Hollenberg. “By screening and discussing the films with fellow students and film professionals, students are able to connect with one another, with new cinematic works, and engage with visual storytelling in new and exciting ways.”

Applications will be accepted through March 17, 2019 and jurors will be notified prior to the festival.
