Aging in Montclair

On Thursday, May 16th, Aging in Montclair (AIM) invites the community to a half-day seminar on housing options for seniors wishing to remain or return to Montclair. The seminar will be held at 13 Trinity Place (The Salvation Army Building) on the middle level. Registration will begin at 9:30 AM , the program will begin at 10:00 and run through lunch until 1:30 PM. Admission is free (including lunch), but reservations are required by calling 973-707-5088.

The program will begin with “Preparing To Move: Downsizing and Staging Your Current Home” by Melissa DiMarco, proprietor of “Run Around Melissa”. Betsy Ceccio of Keller Williams Realty will then present an overview of current market-rate options to rent or to buy. Andrea Peyser, LCSW, a founding member and past-President of AIM and Joy Kay, Executive Director of The Montclair Inn, will discuss “Intentional Cooperative Living Options”. Lisa Kolton, LCSW, of Connections Care Management will describe “Assisted Living and Continuing Care Options”. And, Melody Federico, Executive Director of Homecorp will talk about “Subsidized Living and Affordable Options”.

During lunch, Ann Lippel, Chair of The Montclair Senior Citizens Advisory Committee (SCAC) and William Scott, Co-Chair of The Montclair Housing Commission, will describe other living options not currently permitted in Montclair, but possibly in the future.

Parking is available under the building, entrance at the back of the parking lot. Take the elevator to the middle level (ML).
