Montclair Crime: Graffiti at Clary Anderson; Suspicious Person Call Ends in Warrant Arrest

Burglary / Theft
June 11, 2019 (Label Street): A 2017 silver Toyota Highlander was stolen from outside a Label Street business. The vehicle was recovered two days later parked and unoccupied in Denville, NJ. This incident is still under investigation.

June 11, 2019 (South Fullerton Avenue): Clothing worth approximately $100.00 was stolen from a South Fullerton Avenue business. A juvenile suspect was later identified and the clothing was returned.

June 12, 2019 (Lincoln Street): A burglary was reported to a garden shed within a multi-unit apartment complex. It is unknown how entry was gained. Approximately $600.00 in commercial lawn equipment was stolen.

June 14, 2019 (Valley Road): An Apple iPad was stolen from a Valley Road business. The iPad was worth approximately $500.00

June 14, 2019 (Dodd Street): A package containing clothing items was delivered and subsequently stolen from a Dodd Street residence.

June 16, 2019 (Glenridge Avenue): A couple dining at a Glenridge Avenue establishment left the business without paying for their $98.00 meal. The incident is under investigation.

June 17, 2019 (Pine Street): A package containing approximately $190.00 in miscellaneous merchandise was stolen from a Pine Street vestibule.

June 16, 2019 (Chestnut Street): Graffiti was reported on the property of Clary Anderson Arena and Fortunato Field. The words “FLOW”, “OMEN”, and “AMAN” were observed spray painted in different colors on various walls.

June 17, 2019 (Glenridge Avenue): A resident reported that his vehicle was vandalized while parked in the rear of his apartment building. Numerous scratches were reported.

June 11, 2019 (Gates Avenue): Patrol units were dispatched to the area of Gates Avenue and Harrison Avenue on a report of a suspicious person looking into houses and vehicles. A 55-year-old Montclair man was located and arrested on open warrants out of Orange and the Essex County Sheriffs Department.

June 18, 2019 (South Fullerton Avenue): A 26-year-old Newark woman was arrested on open warrants out of East Orange, West New York, Newark, and Little Egg Harbor following a motor vehicle stop.

June 11, 2019 (Pleasant Avenue): An abandoned Chrysler 300 was located crashed into a utility pole on Pleasant Avenue. The vehicle was unoccupied and was reported stolen out of Newark. No suspects were located.
