Montclair Crime: Vandalism, Theft, Arrests

The week in Montclair crime from D/Lt. David O’Dowd, Montclair Police Department:


05/28/2019 (Pine Street) A 61-year-old East Orange man was arrested on open warrants out of Hoboken and Montclair. He was also charged with Hindering for providing a false name to officers.

05-31-2019 (Washington Street) A 23-year-old Montclair man was arrested on an open warrant out of Newark.


05-30-2019 (Pine Street) Theft of a computer tablet from an unlocked construction vehicle.

05-30-2019 (Cuban Pete’s, Bloomfield Avenue) Theft of a pocketbook which had been left hanging on the back of a chair while the victim was dining.

05-31-2019 (Cedar Avenue) An unlocked vehicle was rummaged through, but nothing reported taken.

06-02-2019 (Howe Avenue) Burglary to a residential garage. A bicycle was stolen in this incident.

06-02-2019 (Valley Road) Theft of keys and a phone charger that had been left unattended during a garage sale.

06-04-2019 (Highland Avenue) Theft of a delivered package from the front of a residence. This package contained a laptop computer.


05-28-2019 (Classic Man, Watching Plaza) Damage to the standing barber pole outside the establishment. The glass housing at the top of the pole was discovered smashed.

06-01-2019 (Hawthorne Place) The rear window of a parked motor vehicle was smashed by an unknown object.
