The Montclair Foundation’s Van Vleck House & Gardens invites the community to come see beyond the curb and check out some of the most unique and special private gardens to be found in Montclair and Glen Ridge. This year’s event marks the 20th anniversary of Van Vleck’s first—and one of its most beloved—annual fundraiser.
This year’s tour features seven private properties, to be revealed when the program guide, which also serves as the ticket, is picked up on June 7th or 8th at Van Vleck House & Gardens. Guests can then embark on the self-guided tour, which showcases both large and modest size gardens, many of which are designed and maintained by the owners. Paying homage to the original roots of the event, this year’s roster even includes both a rose and a rock garden!
Guests may visit the gardens over the course of the two days. Ticket price also includes an invitation to a special talk at Van Vleck about the history and development of the Van Vleck Gardens on Saturday, June 8th at 9:30 am. The presentation will be given by Charles Fischer, Executive Director of Van Vleck House & Gardens, Lisa Mierop of Mierop Designs, and Frank Contey of Terra Graphics.
