Doris Zeger, a rising senior at Montclair High School, has launched a personal training service for Montclair children, teens, and adults. Zeger will donate 20% of the proceeds from her personal training income to the Montclair Human Needs Food Pantry (HNFP), which provides food, clothing, and other services to people in need who live in Montclair and neighboring communities in Essex County.
“I’m really excited to help people get in shape and have fun working out,” says Zeger. “I love designing creative workouts that address people’s unique needs, goals, and challenges, and I’m hoping to share my fitness ideas with lots of clients this summer so I can make a great donation every month to the HNFP.”
The one-hour, individual exercise sessions Zeger will offer will take place in Montclair’s parks (weather permitting). She will focus her training on students between the ages of 10 and 17 who want “a great workout” or to get ready for fall sports, as well as adults.
Zeger’s athletic background includes participation in Montclair United’s travel soccer team, MHS’ women’s soccer team, boxing training, and weight/cardio/calisthenics training at gyms across the country. In the fall, she will join MHS’ wrestling team.
Along with her athletic pursuits, Zeger is also a gardener, chef, and vegan advocate. Her POVs on diet, exercise, and vegan topics have been featured in Edible Blog, Fupping, Plant Based News, UK-based Soul Health International, Eat This Not That! and Vegan Teen.
