Montclair Man To Run From NYC to Philly To Raise Funds For Immigrants’ Rights

Some people go out for dinner with friends on their birthday. Montclair’s Dan Zimerman is running 100 miles from New York City to Philadelphia on his birthday, Monday, August 9, to raise funds and awareness for the ACLU’s Immigrants’ Rights Project.

Zimerman will run from Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty to Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell.

“Whether someone arrives by boat, by air plane, or by foot, the fundamental constitutional protections of due process and equal protection embodied in our Constitution and Bill of Rights apply to every single human being, regardless of immigration status,” Zimerman states.
