Montclair Crime: Tip Jar Stolen At Trend Coffee and Tea House

The week in Montclair crime from Detective Sergeant Terence Turner, Montclair Police.

Theft

August 22, 2019 (Bloomfield Avenue): An employee of Trend Coffee and Tea House reported that two individuals entered the business and stole the tip jar which contained approximately $30.00 in cash. The suspects were described as a white male, 25-30 years old, approximately 6’00” – 6’5” tall, thin build, short brown hair last seen wearing jeans and a black or blue T-Shirt. The second suspect was described as a white female, 25-30 years old, approximately 5’3″ tall, thin build, red or black shoulder length hair
With an unknown tattoo on her back left shoulder. They fled the scene in a grey Hyundai.

August 23, 2019 (New Street): The owner of a 1997 Mercedes Benz C230 reported that his vehicle was stolen from in front of his New Street residence.

Vandalism

August 22, 2019 (Oxford Street): The victim reported that the rear window to her vehicle was broken while parked. It is unknown what caused the window to break and nothing was reported missing from the vehicle.


Burglary

August 26, 2019 (Forest Street): The complainant reported that a building under renovation was burglarized over the weekend. Entry was gained through a basement window. Once inside, the suspect(s) stole approximately $2,000.00 worth of construction equipment.
