After allegations of harsh conditions, grotesque experiments, and staff disappearances, the facility was closed in 1952. It was reopened in 2011 as a haunted attraction.

Brighton Asylum is not recommended for children under age 10 but will be admitted at a parent’s discretion. Young children may not be carried. Children age 13+ can walk through without a parent or guardian. Only ages 16+ can wear a glow necklace to participate in the “contact” portion of the haunted house.
