Where To Get Your Thanksgiving Desserts: Pies à la Mode, Cakes, Breads and More!

Thanksgiving pies are the ultimate closer to your Thanksgiving feast, but be sure to make room on that holiday table for other treats, too. Check out the best Thanksgiving dessert options (don’t forget the ice cream!) to end your Thanksgiving meal in style.

Layers of Flavors Cake & Coffee Shop (102 Walnut Street, Montclair) has pies available for order including Classic Apple Pie, Apple Crumb Pie, Pumpkin Pie, and Cranberry Pie. They will also offer pecan pie, french lemon tart, and cookies. Special orders can be made through November 26, and treats will be available in store as well. Online ordering is available.

Le French Dad Boulangerie & Café (10 Church Street, Montclair) will be taking orders for desserts through November 25. Choose from their variety of French desserts or opt for a more traditional pecan cranberry pie, mixed fruit (blueberry, grapes and quince) pie or a French pear and almond tart. The Pie Store (100 Watchung Avenue, Upper Montclair) will be offering up its tasty treats on a first come, first served basis only, with no pre-ordering available. Available pies will be Brandied Pumpkin Pie, Apple Pie lattice, Cranberry Apple Pie lattice, Mince Pie lattice, Key Lime Pie with Whipped Cream, and Chocolate Mousse Pie with Whipped Cream. Also available are Sausage Rolls, soups, main course pies (Turkey & Stuffing, Chicken & Vegetable, and Shepherd’s) and sides. On Thanksgiving week, the store will be open from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM Monday and Tuesday, and 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Wednesday. They will be closed on Thursday. They’ll reopen on Friday for the weekend. Dessert pies range in price from $11.95 to $34.95 and are available in two sizes.

Kreme & Krumbs, an amazing new ice cream shop/bakery in Bloomfield, is offering holiday pints of ice cream (4 for $40) with a choice of flavors perfect for pairing with pies: Madagascar bourbon vanilla bean, caramel apple, bourbon pecan, cranberry jam and cream cheese, melted chocolate, and yams and mello. Pre-order by Nov. 23; pick up pints on Nov. 27. Kreme and Krumbs also has sweet potato, pecan and apple pies you can pre-order by Nov. 20. Don’t forget to pick up some of their incredible cookies, too (dark chocolate walnut is a fave)!

In the Company of Yum will offer a variety pies and other baked goods. The Thanksgiving menu include classics like Apple, Pumpkin, and Pecan, as well as specialties such as The Man Pie, Peanut Butter Chocolate Crème, Chocolate Chip Cookie Pie, and Harvest Pie. Pies start at $18. Other desserts are also available as is a Mini Pie Sampler. Orders will be taken until November 22.

Luisa Bakery & Cafe is honoring on the pie tradition of Gina’s Bakery, the space where Many Vaknin of Marcel and MishMish fame opened his latest offering. Luisa will offer pecan, pumpkin, mixed berry, apple, cherry and peach pies ($23). Go beyond pies to try Vaknin’s craveworthy babkas — chocolate is a crowd pleaser, but check out a new seasonal cheesecake pumpkin babka ($11.95).

If you’re looking for gluten-free pies and baked goods, Plum Bakery (179 Glenridge Avenue, Montclair) is the perfect spot. Place your order by November 17th. Pie varieties include Pumpkin, Pecan, Apple Crumb, Coconut Custard, Cranberry Apple Crumb, and Key Lime. Cakes, breads, and other baked goods are also available to round out your gluten-free holiday meal.

Treelicious Orchards offers online ordering for pick-up at the Montclair Farmer’s Market location at Walnut Street Station on Saturday, November 23 from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and Tuesday, November 26, between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM. Be sure to choose the Montclair pick-up site when ordering. Options include Strawberry Rhubarb, Cherry, Blueberry, Apple Pear Cranberry, Apple Cranberry, Apple Blueberry and Apple. Orders must be placed by midnight on November 22.

Nicolo’s Italian Bakery (6 Baldwin Street, Montclair) will have Apple, Cherry, and Pumpkin pies available for Thanksgiving orders. Choose from Pumpkin, Apple, or Cherry, all $12 each. They will also have their regular selection of breads and menu items available to order as well. Place your order by November 26, or sooner if you can.

Montclair Bread Co. (113 Walnut Street, Montclair) will have a variety of desserts, doughnuts, and breads available to order. Orders must be received by 10am on November 25. Pies include Apple Galette, Pumpkin Pie, and Pecan Pie. Orders will be available for pick up on Wednesday November 27 and Thursday November 28. Pies start at $28.

The Little Daisy Bake Shop (622 Valley Road, Montclair) will be accepting Thanksgiving orders until November 19. Items available include cakes, Daisy Dips, Pumpkin Bread, Banana Bread, cookie and bar platters, and cupcakes.

APEM Creamery // Sorbetteria (870 Broad Street, Bloomfield) will be offering pints for preorder through November 17. Pickup dates are November 23, 24, and 25. Flavors include Salty Caramel, Goat Caramel, Vanilla Bean, Maple Walnut, Uber Chocolate, Pumpkin Coconut, Fig & Port, Dark Chocolate and Milk Chocolate.

Anthony’s Cheesecake (71 Washington Street, Bloomfield) has pies available for preorder. The selection includes Pumpkin Cream Cheese, Pumpkin, Sweet Potato, Apple Crumb, Cherry Crumb, and Brookie. Pie prices range from $17 to $25. Cakes, cheesecakes, and other desserts are available. The store will be open until 12:00 PM on Thanksgiving Day. Please allow 48 hours for orders.

In nearby Maplewood, Cedar Ridge Café & Bakery (410 Ridgewood Road, Maplewood) is accepting orders for Thanksgiving desserts and other goodies. Pumpkin Pie, Maple Cream Pie, Pecan Pie, Gingersnaps, Pumpkin Apple Oat Bars, Oatmeal Cranberry Pecan Cookies, and gluten free Pumpkin Molasses Loaf are available, and all are 100% vegan. Orders are due by Sunday, November 24, and must be picked up Wednesday, November 27 between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
