Celebrate 2020 with The Fam! A Guide To New Year’s Eve Family Fun!

New Year’s Eve isn’t just for grown-ups! The kids want to celebrate too! Get ready for some family fun, New Year’s Eve style with celebrations near and far!

Celebrate early with the little ones at a New Year’s Eve Balloon Drop at Kidville (516 Valley Road, Montclair). Join in from a 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for games, crafts, brunch and the Balloon Drop at noon! Tickets here.

The Shannon Rose (98 Kingsland Road, Clifton): Celebrate the new year as the clock strikes midnight in Dublin. Celebrate from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM with face painters, bagpipers, balloons, and a celebratory toast. Space is limited, and reservations are required.

Dave and Buster’s (310 Willowbrook Mall, Wayne): Ring in 2020 with the family! The New Year’s Eve Packages combines food and fun from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Tickets start at $33.85 and include an appetizer buffet with family favorites, dessert, unlimited soft drinks, Power Cards, and a video ball drop.

First Night Morris 2020 (24 Venues across Downtown Morristown): Now in its 28th year, First Night Morris is the biggest New Year’s Eve celebration in New Jersey. It will feature over 100+ artists and 40+ performances inside 16 venues. This event is family-friendly, alcohol-free and substance-free celebration and will offer dance, theatre, music (rock, jazz, blues, classical, etc.), visual arts, world cultures, children’s programs, and so much more. Crystal Springs Resort (Sussex County, NJ): The resort offers a variety of family-friendly dinner events with entertainment. Reservations are required for all events and some require an overnight stay at the resort. Check out the website for specific details.

iPlay America (110 Schanck Road, Freehold): Enjoy a night of rides, party favors, a live DJ, prizes and giveaways from 7:00 PM to 1:00 AM. Watch the ball drop and the confetti cannons fire at midnight. Dinner is available on site at the Boardwalk, featuring pizza, burgers, chicken fingers, and more. Turtleback Zoo Holiday Light Spectacular (560 Northfield Avenue, West Orange): This isn’t exactly a New Year’s Eve celebration, but it’s still a fun holiday activity the whole family can enjoy. Take a winter stroll through the Essex County Turtle Back Zoo this holiday season under the sparkling lights of over 50 winter and animal characters. Themed activities include. Admission is free but donations of non-perishable food, new toys, and gently used coats appreciated. Open from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. This is the Spectacular’s final night.

Adventure Aquarium (1 Riverside Drive, Camden): Ring in the New Year among family, friends, and fish. The aquarium will be open late, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, to visit with the animals during twilight hours. Take more time to enjoy your favorite animals and even boogie down at the special DJ Shell-ebration Dance Parties. Then end the evening at the best spot on the waterfront to see the beautiful twilight fireworks display over the Delaware River. All is included with Membership or General Admission.

Sahara Sam’s (535 North Route 73, West Berlin): Splash the night away at Midnight at the Oasis! Enjoy indoor water attractions, jam out with the DJ, play games and win giveaways! Admission includes a foam party, delicious appetizers, entrees and desserts, and a champagne or sparkling cider toast. Tickets are $68.99 per person. The event runs from 7:00 PM to 12:30 AM.

First Night on Battleship NJ (100 Clinton Street, Camden): Families can spend the First Night of 2020 aboard the Battleship New Jersey! The award-winning overnight program will be available for families to sleep overnight on the ship on December 31, 2019. Enjoy dinner and breakfast served at the Chowline. Take a guided tour of the World’s Greatest Battleship. Sleep in the bunks that the crew of the USS New Jersey once did. For those who don’t wish to spend the night, the Battleship will open her decks for guests to watch the 6:00 PM or Midnight SugarHouse New Year’s Eve Fireworks on the Waterfront. Sesame Place (100 Sesame Road, Langhorne, PA) Rock out with Elmo, Abby Cadabby, Cookie Monster and Count von Count, as their music fills the air and the sky is covered with colorful bursts of brilliance.
