Need the perfect stocking stuffer, hostess gift, or a sweet treat for yourself? Vesta Chocolate, a new bean to bar chocolate boutique (opening soon at 598 Valley Road in Upper Montclair), will host a pre-opening Pop Up shop this weekend.
Drop by between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. (Saturday, December 21 & Sunday, December 22) to get a festive preview of their holiday chocolate favorites including bon bons and peppermint barks. And hot chocolate will be served!
Founded by native New Jersey pastry chef/chocolatier/chocolate maker Roger Rodriguez and wife/partner/pastry chef/food stylist, Vesta Chocolate will feature house-made chocolate and confections using organic cacao beans sourced from the Dominican Republic and other regions. Chef Roger is a seasoned pastry chef with experience at New York City restaurants including Jean-Georges, Gramercy Tavern, and Del Posto. Most recently he was chocolate maker for Brooklyn’s Cacao Prieto.
Vesta Chocolate is housed in a former bank space; the original vault serves as a retail display space and provides a view into the kitchen where bean-to-bar chocolate and confections will be made daily. Beverages will be offered, including Brooklyn BKG coffee, specialty lattes and hot chocolate. The retail shop will offer gift items. Custom orders can be made for weddings, showers or other special occasions.
