Erwin Park Fire in Montclair Under Investigation

MONTCLAIR, NJ – On January 17th, at 2:26pm the Montclair Fire Department received a call from a contractor on Erwin Park reporting a fire in the attic. Montclair Fire units arrived to find heavy black smoke issuing from the 3rd floor. There weren’t any residents home as the house is under renovation. There was fire damage to the attic area, smoke damage to the 3rd floor and water damage throughout. Units from Clifton, Cedar Grove, Caldwell, Verona covered the township for the duration of the incident. The cause is under investigation. There were no reported civilian or Fire Department injuries. The last units cleared the scene at 4:01 p.m. according to Deputy Chief Robert Duncan, Montclair Fire Department
