Apparently, Montclair really wants to hear what vaginas have to say! Due to overwhelming demand for tickets to the upcoming VDay Montclair production of Eve Ensler’s Vagina Monologues a third performance, on Thursday, February 27th, has been added. The production team thanks Studio Playhouse and the event participants for their generosity in adding this third show. The first two performances sold out within two days, so don’t wait to purchase tickets.
Attendees will join the ensemble cast, full of locals and New Jersey residents, for this benefit performance; all proceeds from ticket sales and donations directly benefit Start Out Fresh Intervention Advocates (S.O.F.I.A.). The production team, actors, and support staff are all volunteering their talents and time to make this event as beneficial to S.O.F.I.A. as possible. The show is also accepting sponsorships for the production ranging from $500 to $50.
This production is directed by local theatrical producer William Michael Harper, of Roseland, NJ, who has been staging productions of The Vagina Monologues throughout the northeast United States since 2004.It is produced by Alyssum D’Aoust of Bloomfield, NJ; Katie Egan Rotio of Bloomfield, NJ; and Jessica Phelan of Montclair, NJ. “We are honored and grateful to be chosen as this year’s beneficiary of the VDay Montclair event,” said Cynthia Walker, executive director and founder of S.O.F.I.A.. “The local spotlight of this year’s performance of The Vagina Monologues reflects S.O.F.I.A.’s micro-focus of helping those affected by domestic violence become positive, autonomous members of our community.”
