Family of Caring in Montclair and Job Haines in Bloomfield are on a list of long-term care facilities, released by the state, where there have been reported COVID-19 outbreaks.
Family of Caring shows 36 cases and 14 deaths, while Job Haines is listed as having 38 cases and eight deaths, per the list.
Overall, Essex County has 40 facilities with outbreaks, with 1,106 reported cases and 225 deaths.
“Repeatedly, we have reinforced their obligation to inform residents, staff and families. However, we are still hearing concerns that that is not taking place,” State Health Commissioner Judith Persichilli said Monday, with regards to these facilities. “So, in the full interest of transparency, we are sharing the details.”
Statewide, the report shows 10,744 positive COVID-19 cases at 425 facilities resulting in 1,779 deaths — almost half of the 4,377 coronavirus deaths in New Jersey.
