New Jersey Deaths From COVID-19: 1003, Positive Cases, 41,090

New Jersey received 3,663 new positive COVID-19 test results since Sunday, bringing the statewide total to 41,090. Another 86 people have died due to COVID-19 related complications, bringing the statewide total to 1,003.

Essex County has lost 186 people to COVID-19; total positive cases for Essex County are at 4,493.

Montclair Township Health Department reports the confirmed number of COVID-19 reported cases in Montclair is 181; the number of individuals who did not survive the illness remains at 20.

Despite the sobering numbers, Gov. Phil Murphy said the state is seeing a decline in the growth rate of new cases, from 24% day-over-day on March 30th, to roughly 12% Monday.

“While we are not anywhere close to being out of the woods just of yet, we are clearly on the right path to get there. Our efforts to flatten the curve are starting to pay off.”
