Montclair Police Celebrate Seven-Year-Old Girl Who Took Quick Action To Help Sister in Pool

Montclair Police Chief Todd Conforti, accompanied by Deputy Mayor Bill Hurlock and the men and women of his department, honored a seven-year-old Montclair girl Friday, calling her a “true Shero.”

Seven-year-old Ruby noticed her younger sister was in distress while swimming, and saw she was unable to get above water. Montclair Police shared on social media how Ruby helped her sister:

Ruby jumped to action without hesitation, bringing her sister’s head above water, then dragging her out of the pool and getting their father. Ruby’s quick and decisive actions are heroic and brave for a person of any age, especially a seven-year-old. We salute our Shero Ruby !!!
