Howling winds and heavy rain battered New Jersey Tuesday as Tropical Storm Isaias touched down, tearing down trees and power lines. There was even a tornado sighting in Ocean City. Locally, trees have fallen down all over Essex County, and some have hit nearby homes.
More than 1.3 million power outages were reported statewide. Locally, by Tuesday night, some residents had their power restored, while others were still in the dark.

Went for a walk since I ran out of light to read my book and couldn’t bear the heat any longer. I guess THAT would be why we don’t have electricity yet. It’s going to be a long night. 😥 Now I’m home stress eating my ice cream in the dark before it all melts. #isaias #hurricaneseason #glenridgenj
