Open Your Heart: A Spiritual Conversation On Race – Monday, Nov. 16

Join world-renowned author Parker J. Palmer, and James Johnson, Corporate Counsel for City of New York as they discuss issues of race, empathy, and uncomfortable moments that Open your Heart to a journey of understanding to love and acceptance. Moderated by Mary Alice Williams, this discussion is the first of a Virtual series that will provide participants a path to create a compassionate and healthy world by nurturing personal and professional integrity and the courage to act on it.

Moderated by Mary Alice Williams, this program is based on the teachings of Parker Palmer, who has inspired millions with his “Open your Heart” approach to community and understanding. These include the power of community to effect change, the importance of fostering self-confidence, the need to see ourselves connected to others, and the necessity to sit in the uncomfortable tensions and contradictions of life.

The “Open Your Heart Series” is sponsored by the Racial Justice Task force of Temple Ner Tamid of Bloomfield, NJ in partnership with Park United Methodist Church, and St. Mark’s United Methodist Church.
