Sponsored: YMCA of Montclair Early Learning Center – Nurturing, Protecting, and Teaching

The YMCA of Montclair’s Early Learning Center, operating within the Geyer Family YMCA at 159 Glenridge Avenue in Montclair, offers full-day childcare for children 3 months to 4 years old. The Y, a leader in youth development across the nation, recognizes that successful youth development requires a holistic approach focused on achieving language, social-emotional, physical, and cognitive milestones.

“I am proud of the fact that families have entrusted their children to us during this time of uncertainty,” said Justine Biendon, Early Learning Center Director. “Parents know that the YMCA of Montclair is here for families, providing a safe, nurturing, developmentally appropriate space for children to learn and grow.”

The YMCA Early Learning Center utilizes The Creative Curriculum®, a developmentally appropriate, comprehensive curriculum that promotes positive outcomes for children. This research-based approach to teaching is centered around exploration and discovery as a way of learning, enabling preschool children to develop confidence, creativity, and lifelong critical thinking skills while offering younger children an environment and experiences that are nurturing, responsive and intentional.

“As my four-year-old, Landon, puts it, ‘the Y is very special’, said YMCA Early Learning Center parent Yasamine. “We have been so happy with our experience at the Early Learning Center. Landon is thriving there, both socially and academically. He loves his teacher and new friends, and his language skills have advanced noticeably. It’s clear that he is developing a great foundation for elementary school.”

The Y’s staff is trained and experienced in implementing COVID-19 protocols and procedures. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, swimming and water safety classes as well as language classes will be added at a later date.

The YMCA of Montclair offers financial assistance to cover the cost of tuition for childcare for those needing help. YMCA membership is not required to enroll. Parents who are interested in the program should complete the online interest form.
