First-Ever Lighting of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool To Honor Lives Lost To COVID-19

Americans will gather tonight, Tuesday January 19 at 5:30 p.m., for a shared national moment of unity and remembrance to honor the more than 400,000 Americans lost to COVID-19. The memorial is one of the Presidential Inaugural Committee (PIC) events.

President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Harris will be in Washington, D.C. for the first-ever lighting of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool to honor and remember those who have died. The ceremony will be streamed live on Biden Inaugural social media channels.

Communities are also invited to light up buildings, ring church bells at 5:30 p.m. or place a candle in windows.

The Township of Montclair will light up the municipal building at 5:30 p.m. today.
